Denim Days

Hello, loves! Welcome to the first official blog post of Coats d'Amour, your catchall for jackets and coats inspiration. For those of us living in more temperate climates, like here in southern California, spring season has already sprung, two months early. The sun has been shining like the star she is and warming up our days. As we shift out of the cold weather, denim jackets are a great transitional piece to tie us over until the sun comes out for good. For those of you still shivering in the snow, denim jackets are still great options to layer with a heavier coat.

If you live in a colder climate, you can still rock a denim jacket! They can easily be layered under or over your favorite coat to keep you warm and stylish. Don't let the cold weather deter you from pulling out this classic denim piece.

For those feeling a little more daring, you can try mixing two denim pieces together. The denim-on-denim look is back in style, full swing! Pair different washes of denim so it doesn't look as ostentatious or go all out and wear matching shades! (We've yet to see Britney and Justin jump back on the denim-on-denim bandwagon.)

You can play around with different washes of denim: light, dark, or anywhere in between. The possibilities are endless as are the shades of blue. Find one that speaks to you and pair it with almost anything. Throw a denim jacket on top of a flirty skirt or dress, or add it to a casual outfit for a cool, street vibe.

Lastly is my personal favorite, the chambray shirt, which is, essentially, a lightweight, light wash denim jacket. The chambray shirt is such a versatile piece that can be worn over dresses on slightly cooler days or under a sweater for a polished look. I throw it on all the time, with dresses, T-shirt and shorts, or dark wash skinny jeans.
